You need 10 strength zones, a 30-minute time cap and the guts to finish.
This fall, CrossFit Cerberus will host the first DEKA ATLAS event of the 2026 season in Kansas City and if you lift, carry, or grind through workouts just to feel something real...
this is the test you’ve been waiting for.
What Is DEKA ATLAS?
DEKA ATLAS is Spartan’s newest fitness race format, a 10-zone, 30-minute strength test held inside Spartan affiliate gyms like ours.
Unlike DEKA FIT or DEKA MILE, ATLAS has no running and no cardio machines.
Just ten zones that challenge your full-body strength, mental grit, and movement capacity.
Each competitor must complete all 10 zones in order, no skipping, no modification, no shortcuts.
🔟 The 10 DEKA ATLAS Zones (in order):
- Barbell Thrusters – 20 reps (front squat into press overhead)
- Burpee Over Bar – 20 reps (chest to ground, jump over barbell)
- Surrender Lunge – 20 reps (weighted kneel-to-stand lunge)
- Dumbbell Ground to Overhead – 20 reps (alt. arms, snatch or clean & press)
- Dumbbell Bear Crawl – 40 meters (weights in hand, feet behind dumbbells)
- Sit-Ups with Weight – 20 reps (touch ground behind head, then in front)
- Farmer’s Carry – 60 meters (dumbbell or kettlebell, 5m down & back x6)
- Dumbbell Shoulder to Overhead – 20 reps (any press variation allowed)
- Jump Rope – Single Unders – 100 reps (feet leave ground, 1 full rope rev)
- ATLAS Shoulder to Carry – 100 meters (weighted ball or bag, 5m x10)
🆚 Foundation vs. Peak Divisions
You’ll choose your division based on your current strength level:
- Foundation: For strong, everyday athletes. Moderate weights, fully legit.
- Peak: For advanced competitors. Heavier standards, same 30-minute cap.
🏅 Both divisions earn medals, leaderboard rankings, and official DEKA recognition.
