About Coach

Carl has spent more than two decades coaching people to become stronger, more capable, and more confident in what their bodies can do. He built his coaching foundation in gymnastics, developing athletes from their first skills through elite competition. He served as a USA Gymnastics World Age Group Team Coach, was selected to judge at the U.S. Olympic Trials, and coached elite trampoline athlete Nathan Donnelly to the U.S. Olympic Trials. Today he writes nutrition plans for gymnasts, CrossFitters, triathletes, and kettlebell sport athletes, and he still trains and competes. In 2026 he represented the United States at the IKMF World Championships and earned 3rd place.

Turning Point

Carl discovered CrossFit in 2009 and founded CrossFit Cerberus in Blue Springs in 2012. His gymnastics background shaped how Cerberus coaches: movements are taught through progressions, strength is built intentionally, skills are developed over time, and training challenges each person without ignoring where they start.

Motivation & Passion

Meet people where they are. Help them see what's possible. Give them a path to get there. You don't have to stay who you've been. Train for who you choose to become.
